Taylor, Brian, and Erik showed up Saturday late afternoon. We skated the park saturday night and Erik shot a couple of sick ass photos. We camped out at my place for some late night shenanigans then street skating Sunday....Probably one of the most productive skate days in awhile. Morning manual sesh all the SAV boys got some clips in...then open the shop at 1...ledge skating for two hours...small gap sesh...then to end it all with a nice little lunch at Mickie D's!! Enjoi.....

Who we are and What we are about

KP Skate Shop was literally born on the battlefields of Fallujah in November 2004. The owner was a heavy machine gunner in the Marines for 9 years and was wounded twice while engaged with the enemy. Through a bloody battle, the pure appreciation for life was found. It was time to leave the Marine Corps behind, but not the brotherhood that comes from being a part of something real.

In April 2006 Killer Peaks opened its doors as a Surf and Skate. The overarching principal being open a core shop, not just another store. The long term goal being the development of a family, not just customers. From the eyes of Killer Peaks, a true local surf community did not exist. On the exact opposite end of the surf community was the local skate community. The local crew was, and still is, very legit. This being said, Killer Peaks began to evolve into KP Skate Shop. KP Skate Shop quickly became 100 percent skateboarding, nothing more and nothing less. Why? Because a legit skate scene deserves a legit skate shop.

In closing, rest assured that KP's focus is and always will be on the local skate family. Don't believe us? Just roll through our area, and you will quickly become a believer. We pride ourselves in having one of the most legit teams, crews, and vibes in the Dirty South.

The Skate clinic for 2009 is scheduled for July 6, 7, and 8th. It is a free skateboard instructional clinic hosted by us, the magnifico KP Skate Shop. It will run from 9am to 12pm daily and is geared for beginners. What are we going to do there you ask? Well, let me answer such a wonderful question with precision that only a true jenius scholer like me can. Stand by to copy...

First, You have to sign up, we only take the first 100 to get signed up. You can do that by sending an email to clinic@kpskateshop.com Please include name and age of each recruit.

Then, you need to acquire the proper padding in accordance with The Rules Outlined by the City of Port Royal. This includes helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads.

Next, show up each morning at 8:45 and get checked in. If you want to be a good student you can even bring me some coffee.

At 9 we kick off by breaking into groups depending waht you would like to spend an hour learning. Stations are as follows...

FLAT GROUND

BANKS AND HIPS

MINI HALF PIPE

6 FOOT HALF PIPE

LEDGES AND RAILS

QUARTER PIPES AND WALL RIDES

Every 45 minutes we will take a 15 minute water break. Hydration is key to huge tricks.

During your break, you will get quik classes ranging from skate park manners to first aid to board maintenance.

After your break, you pick your station and forward we move.

Hurry and get signed up, or find yourself groveling for a spot when the time comes.

THE SKATE PARK IS A FREE SKATE PARK PROVIDED BY THE TOWN OF PORT ROYAL.
IT IS OPEN FOR USE FROM SUN UP TO AROUND 10:30PM. YOU WILL KNOW ITS CLOSING TIME WHEN THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS CUT OFF.

IT IS ONE OF THE NICEST FREE PARKS ON THE EAST COAST. IT HAS A FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD TYPE VIBE TO IT, AND WE AT KP ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE AND DETERMINED TO KEEP TROUBLE AWAY FROM THE PARK. ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME. THERE IS A 3 FOOT MINI RAMP WITH A SPINE, A 6 FOOT HALF PIPE WITH 1 FOOT EXTENSIONS ON BOTH SIDES. A WAVE WITH KINKED HANDRAIL, A 13 FOOT VERT QUARTER, A BANK TO WALLRIDE, A BANK TO LEDGE, A FUNBOX WITH A HUBBA, A CIRCULAR HAND RAIL, A SQUARE FLAT BAR AND HIPS. A 4 FOOT QUARTER, A 6 FOOT QUARTER, AND A 3 STAIR LEDGE THAT WE RECENTLY ADDED. THERE ARE SODA MACHINES, WATER FOUNTAIN, AND PORT-A-JOHNS.
